After all the storms, note the Alligator Alert!!

The Fla., Louisiana and Mississippi State Department of Fish and Wildlife
is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen, and golfers to take extra
precautions and keep alert for alligators while in parishes and
counties.

They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as "little
bells" on their clothing to alert, but not startle the alligators unexpectedly.
They also advise the carrying of "pepper spray" in case of an encounter
with an alligator.

It's also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of alligator activity and
be able to recognize the difference between young alligator and adult
alligator droppings. Young alligator droppings are small, contain fish, bones and possibly bird feathers.

Adult alligators droppings have.................... little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

Hmmmmm - sounds like the bear droppings up here!

Oh, I really needed a good laugh. Felt great! Thanks :D :D :D

Marguerite..............still chukling......... :)

Almost fell out of my chair...........

Almost fell out of my chair...........

I was laughing so hard. Fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I'm sitting there, reading, thinking, "Oh, great! Who wants to sift through alligator poop?" And I am nowhere near Florida, mind you............and then I finally digested the punch line. :D

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I needed that laugh. You are an amazing woman to be able to laugh in times of such adversity. Many hugs and God bless.

Cute!!!

I lived in Shreveport LA for 2 years (worked as copy editor for the Shreveport Times newspaper there) and was warned about gators my first couple of days. I pooh-poohed all the stories.
Then we had several stories come across the copy desk about cars that had hit stray gators. I also began paying attention to ALLIGATOR CROSSING signs on roads.

Those gators can be biiiiiiiiiiig suckers!
