How long is 48 hours? A very long time if you are waiting for the results of a biopsy.... My husband had his lung biopsy last Thursday. We have been waiting for the results. Got a call from the doctor today. We have an appointment Thurday. We will find out then. I asked if maybe she could just give us a yes or a no if it was malignant or not. She said that she did not have the results yet but that they would be in by the time we go to the appointment.
He is in constant pain even with vicodin every 4 hours, day and night. He is having a lot more pain than I ever had from my OHS.
We can use all the prayers anyone is willing to send our way.

Prayers, Thoughts, Prayers...

Prayers, Thoughts, Prayers...

Praline, My heart goes out to you. Anyone know of forums her husband might check out for support? Brian

I feel for you and your husband and having to wait to find out. We are all praying that you will get good news and that your husband will soon be pain free.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I have thought of you both often in the past few days.

Praline,
Is the doctor aware that your husband is in terrible pain?
I would fuss like the devil about that.
It's one thing to wait for biopsy results for an accurate diagnosis; but another thing for him to experience this pain when something could be given for it.
I pray for God's grace to be with both of you as you wait.
Mary

Likewise here, praying for the both of you. With my Docs, there is no such thing as 48 hours. It's called keep calling them until you get an answer because they never call you.

Praline,
You and your husband will be in my constant prayers. The uncertainty must be very difficult for both of you.
Kathleen

Praline, I must have missed this..
I am so sorry to hear what is going on with your husband and family!
I am praying for his pain relief and certainly for a good report tomorrow!

I believe lung surgery is the most painful of all for recovery; everyone I've known who's had it has been in agony. So I hope the doc isn't having your hubby taking tylenol. He probably needs percodan or another heavy hitter.

My brother had lung cancer; recovery from his surgery was the only time he was ever in pain; and that pain was severe without drugs.

There ARE much worse surgeries than OHS.

I've been thinking of you and your hubby all the time; and sending prayers your way. My heart aches for you and him; keeping fingers crossed, too.

Hi Praline,

So sorry you both have to wait like this. Waiting is AWFUL. But in the meantime, I agree with Mary, they should be able to give him something more for the pain. He shouldn't have to be suffering like that. There are stronger pain medications. If need be, ask for a referral to a pain management doc or clinic.

Will be checking for a post from you on Thursday.

You are both in my thoughts and sending you all kinds of good wishes.

Praline,
My thoughts and prayers continue for your husband and for you as well. I am so sorry he is struggling with so much pain. Hope all of our prayers are answered regarding this health crisis.

Hi Praline

I don't know how I could have missed your post, but obviously I did. I will put you both in my prayers immediately and hope that you get good news tomorrow. I agree with everyone else.....get him free from pain whatever drug it takes. A good friend of mine had lung surgery about 10 years ago....she's doing fine, even with only one lung....she just can't run around a dog ring very quickly.

I'm thinking of you and hoping you'll let us know as soon as you can tomorrow.

Evelyn
