I know it takes up to 24 hours for you to notice a difference in INR, but I was wondering, when you take your Coumadin, how long does it take for your body to absorb it? 2 hours? 4 hours? Just curious.
so after that it begins working on disrupting the vitamin K recycling pathways and thus denying the chemical machinery which makes the cofactors in the coagulation system (often called coagulation cascade) the amounts of stuff it wants to make ... thus by careful balance we remain slightly under-coagulated.Absorption. Warfarin is essentially completely absorbed after oral administration with peak concentration generally attained within the first four hours.

according to MIMS:

There will be additional delays on this effecting coagulation (INR) which vary a bit from person to person.
Then the liver starts to break it down (the warfarin)
