How dumb

How dumb can a doctor be. My INR has droped from 2.5 to 1.94 over 2 weeks.
He had me taking 10 and a 5 every other night. Which should be 7.5 every night. Now my INR has dropped and he wants me to take 5,10,5,10,5,10,10.
How stupid is that. Im going to self medicate myself now I was taking 7.5,10,7.5,10,7.5,10,7.5 Pre surgery. Thats what Im going back to.
I told them to start with that it wasnt enough but they didnt listen.

If I've figured up correctly, I get 8.5mg everyday or 60.5mg for the week. Let me guess, all you have is 5mg tablets?

Try what your thinking and see what happens, but don't be surprised if you get the royal kick in the butt for not following their directions even if they are wrong.

Is that why they have patients on mixed dosing schedules? It's the way they like to prescribe? Or what tablet is available? Crazy.

When they had me alternating throughout the week...... my INR was messed up BIG time.

Hear you Lee...I took the bull by the horns 4 years ago and never looked back. Having some oral surgery this week. Could not talk them into staying on my regular schedule. I will be a basket a nerves until my INR is up and stable.
