Isn't anyone going to rave about the Boston Red Sox???? I think it is incredible and I wish them luck in the World Series.

I have been rooting for the Red Sox all the way and I live in Georgia. Unbeleiveable that they won four games in a row. I hope they play Houston.
But, then I have a problem because I am rooting for Houston also.

Terry and Peggy and all other BoSox fans...great going. Good luck in the series.

Big Red Sox fans in this family, although I must admit Dick was rooting for the Yankees and I was rooting for the Red Sox. Just got his poem from my niece - thought I would share.:

WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!!!

There once was a pitcher name Schilling
He was ready, able and willing
to throw a few pitches
without any hitches
and to provide the Sox with a killing.

There once was a guy named Torre
Whose team had only known glory,
with a few homeruns
from our favorite sons
The sox put an end to THAT story!

Martinez, Schilling, and Derek Lowe
want the New York fans to know,
Red Sox fans are setting up camps
and getting ready to be the Champs
and we hope you all enjoy the show!!!

I was ready for someone to whip the Yankees, but living in NJ, it's worth your life (or at least your car in the parking lot) to bring it up in conversation. I'm delighted it was the BoSox, and that they won in such a grand sweep, to end their streak of losses to the Yanks.

I'm not a big sports fan anymore, but I did watch the last two innings of the last game, just to see the Red Sox celebrate if they won it.

Folks in this part of the country are rooting for the Cardinals to get a chance to play the Red Sox.
I've probably jinxed them, since they still have to make it through tonight's game, but we're optimistic!

I was hoping for a reprise of the 1964 World Series between the Yankees and Cardinals. As I write this the Cardinals are behind 2-1.

It was fun to witness history as one of the "unbreakable" records bit the dust.

Oddly, if the Astros win tonight, the World Series teams will mirror the presidential election. Texas vs. Massachusetts.

Cardinals or Red Sox?

Cardinals or Red Sox?

Now I don't know who to cheer for as my Dad was born in St. Louis! Cards. haven't been in the World Series since 1987, so I'd like to see them win, too. Basically I was cheering for the Red Sox because I don't like the Yankees.

I'm torn. I would like to see the "curse" lifted for all the Red Sox fans (although that might mess with the fabric of their being :D), but my grandfather was a huge Cardinals fan (lived in Vandalia IL) and my Dad is still a Cardinals fan. I'm a Braves fan so I am usually pulling for my 2nd choice by the time the World Series rolls around.

My oldest Daughter was born in In. but she lived in Boston for the last 4 Yrs.
She is a Red Socks fan through and through. She went to a sports bar in southern In, and wore her Red Socks Hat & Shirt and they were playing the IN Colts, She got some real dirty looks. Ssshe was made Mon. night she had to pick us up at the airpoet and the plane was delayed because of storms so drove around till she found a bar near the airport that had the game on! That is a true fan!

Go Red Sox!!!!!

Go Red Sox!!!!!

I have my fingers crossed!!!!!!

My niece graduated from Boston University, now lives in St. Louis, is news producer for the Fox station there. She's a big sports fan, has been watching the games like crazy, when time permits.

I name my cats for universities & colleges. In early 1997, I named a red Abyssinian for Holly's alma mater, Boston U. (Bossy for short). When Bossy had a litter, I named the kittens for Boston-related landmarks: Faneuil Hall, Fenway Park, Back Bay and Beacon Hill.
Fenway ("Fennie") was a red female, named so because -- duh -- Fenway Park is home of the Boston Red Sox.
Fenway now lives in Kansas City area with another Aby breeder. If Boston wins World Series, I'll have to suggest an appropriate name for a show kitty. :)

I'm almost afraid to post anything because I don't want to jinx them. But, here goes: GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keeping our fingers crossed that it happens tonight- can't take these late hours anymore. ;) My daughter lives in Cambridge and she said a friend expressed the fear that Boston won't be able to take a win - they are so used to saying, "Oh well, there's always next year."! Go Red Sox!!

*raises eyebrow*

Mary, I'm not sure why you are surprised.... I'm a Cubs fan, after all ;).

*pauses for effect*

*grins*

So far.... Red Sox 3, Cardinals 0, as we start the bottom of the 7th. Will this be the night?

I'm not counting no chickens just yet, tho.

BTW, several people have mentioned to me that, perhaps, if the Red Sox win this World Series, that'll pave the way for the Chicago Cubs next year.

*pauses*

Yeah, right. And, Chevrolet will produce the Monte Carlo again.

*shakes head*

The Cubs have a long way to go before they are playoff caliber again...they can do it next year...provided they have a nice shakeup.

*pauses*

Then again...you just never know ;).
