Homograft Feb 7th

My homograft is schedualed for Feb 7th at the Cleveland clinic. The aortic valve and ascending aorta is being replaced. Wouldn't you know I got a cold now and worring about canceling. I went to my family Doctor and he gave me some antibiotics. I'm suppose to see him again Friday. I'll have to call the Clinic in a couple of days if I am not feeling better. I don't think it would be a good idea to have it done while i'm sick.

Ask Glenda about being sick around the surgery. She came down with the intestinal flu immediately after her VR, and was vomiting and everything else in Recovery. I can't even imagine how that must have hurt. It's beyond my comprehension.

She's tough, though, Glenda. Quite admirably so. And the stitches held.

I agree that it would be best not to be sick for surgery. Especially if it involves sneezing. I had a last minute potential cold/sore throat starting when I went in, but fortunately, it never developed into anything at all. My surgeon was not overly concerned about it, though.

Pm me your name and such. You'll be 1 hour away from me. If someone is staying with you up there, perhaps they can keep me as well as the forum informed of your status?

Not a big deal, I'm stuck on O2, so I can't get up there, but do like to contact those that are close to me when at the clinic. Let me know.

Does anybody know if I can get one of those Heart Huggers at the Cleveland Clinic or should I quickly order one before I go?
Will I have computer access there? (that is if I am capable after surgery).
It's Monday and I'm back to work feeling better the antibiotics must of worked. 7 - days N coutin down til surgery. I'll be at the Cleveland clinic guest house on Sunday night and at the hospital at 5:15 a.m. Monday morning. My wife and family will be staying at the guest house.
