Hi everyone!

I just got home from successful minimally invasive mitral valve repair! I had it done robotically on Wednesday, August 5th. Dr. Mihaljevic was absolutely awesome! 2 of my 3 leaflets were damaged too and but also repaired.

Thank you for everyone's prayers and well wishes! All of the advice given on this site was invaluable. I can't tell you all how much it was appreciated.

I am just on some Lasix, potassium and beta blockers and then some percocet for pain and that is only for this week. Otherwise, nothing. I am just resting this week. Its great to be all fixed! Now, I am HAPPY to answer any questions about this procedure.

Its great to be home!!

Welcome home - now take good care of yourself. Walking, sleeping, eathing and breathing are your only jobs for a few weeks!

I was going to wait one more day and then put out an "all points bulletin" for you.
So glad to hear everything went so well. Will continue to pray for your recovery.
Keep us updated.

Janie, great to hear you're home. It is so true--no place like home despite all it faults. As everyone says, rest, walk, breathe, rest, walk, breathe deeply, eat, rest, walk, etc. Slowly is the word to live by and listen to your body.

God speed your recovery.

I'm so glad that you are home and things went so well. I've been hoping to see a post like this from you. Sounds like you too had a good experience at the CC. Even though Cleveland is a great place for heart surgery, I was so hoping that you were on your way outa town. Be sure to rest and take it easy. Welcome home!
