Hi all!

I'd really like to try to get a home testing unit. I'm on United Health Care, and was wondering which company worked better with them - and what the process was? Do I contact the company first, and then ask the doctor - vice verca? I'm sick of paying co-pays and having to go to the hospital for tests (today I was 10 minutes late and the nurse just left, which just motivated me that much more to get my own machine!)

I'm just frustrated with this new clinic (I loved the old one I went to much better, but I think the general care at this hospital is better, so I don't want to switch doctors again just over protimes). :)

Any advice and thoughts about your own experiences would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks!
Kerri

I think Raytel is UHC's in-network provider for home testing units and supplies. What they will probably try and do is go with their rental system where you rent the machine from them, get the supplies, test weekly and call the number into their office. They in turn, fax the info to your doctor.

I would call Raytel first and see what they tell you to do. They may take care of all the leg work.

United Healthcare

Hello,

We have gotten hundreds of people approved through United Healthcare, so give us a call and we'll look into an approval. In some regions they may consider us out of network, but we'd be glad to research at no charge to you. Call us at 800-298-4515 ext 2801 and we'll see if there are any opportunities available. Thanks,

Lance, QAS
