well my doctor had no problem with me home testing and in fact wrote up a prescription for it today. I will be hearing from the QAS people on tuesday. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has cigna healthcare and if anyone has had a problem with them approving a home monitor. And also if you have gotten a monitor that cigna approved what was the out of pocket costs for the monitor and were you able to make payments for it?

Jackie:

Do you have a detailed list of benefits from cigna? Not all policies through the same insurance carrier are identical, so it would be best to get a copy from your employer's HR office.

no we haven't gotten one of those for years. i suppose that the hubby could go and get one. i know that we have one of the better plans through cigna but really that is all i know.

I went thru qas. What monitor are you getting. I paid 25% copay out of pocket. Strips are $40/3mos.testing weekly, but they just called and said I can go to every 2 weeks now. $2280 was charged to my insurance. It took awhile for the thing to arrive and for them to get someone to train me on it (15 weeks).
