Hi jds,
I had my surgery done at Mass General and Gus Vlahakes was my surgeon. I think my whole experience there was great. The Ellison 8 nursing staff was awesome, and Gus and the floor manager Stan were outstanding. I have never had an issue in the 2+ years since my surgery (knock on wood) I hope you'll have a quick rehab. Best Wishes:)

Hi -
From reading these forums, I think I may be having the easiest recuperation ever. For which I am very grateful. Home a little over a week and walking like crazy. My surgical team said so long as I did not strain myself, walking at a moderate pace was great and I could do all I wanted. Diffrent story when I get back to running or weights.

I have no recollection of the breathing tube - or really anything between going downstairs for anesthesia and being awake in the ICU.

Only weird experience at home was one night when I had a lot of back pain. My wife suspected bad posture from favoding my chest. I took one Tylenol+Codeine then another a half-hour later. Had a very weird nightmare.
