I asked for a copy of my Holter monitor results, the nurse thought said she'd send them to me, but was sure they wouldn't mean anything to me. Does she not think I've already looked up EVERYTHING pertaining to arrhythmias??:p I had even come to the conclusion that I was having Bigeminy.. (isn't that a fun word??), before I had my Holter. [Words in brackets are mine].

Anyway.. here goes...for what it's worth....

Comments:

1. This patient was monitored for 24 hours. The quality of the tracing was good/fair. The basic rhythm is sinus with intermittent wandering atrial pacemaker, wandering into the junctional region for short periods of time. The heart rate ranging from 40 to
120 BPM., with the average rate of 68 BPM. The PR interval .14 sec., the qrs width .07 sec., and the QT interval .43 sec.

2. 2207 multifocal ventricular ectopics noted. These vary in coupling interval, some are interpolated. 1 couplet, one triplet, and one 5 beat run of ventricular tachycardia at the rate of 102 BPM. Occasional bigeminy/trigeminy/quadrigeminy. [There's something handwritten in here about a "slow" VT- probably not ReEntry (irregular R-R)].

3. 6026 Supraventricular ectopics noted. One 8 beat run of supraventricular tachycardia at the rate of 141 BPM.

4. The patient did not report symptoms during this recording period. [I figured if I pressed the button every time I felt something weird, I'd be pressing it almost continuously
 ].

Jean,

See that, you arn't imagining anything. I'm glad you have your own copy. Were you put on any anti-arrythmic drug or is he going to wait on that? When did you have the holter monitor done?

Hi Betty,

I was monitored on Jan 26th-27th, but didn't see my cardiologist until about a month later. After he got the results of the Holter, my PCP had put me on 25mg of Toprol per day. When I saw the cardio, he upped it to 50mg per day. We're going to see how that works for a while.

Now, here's a question for you. The Cardio mentioned the PVC's, but never once mentioned Venticular Tachycardia. In my own research I have come across info that says that V-Tach can be fatal???? Will the Toprol help with that too? or just the PVC's.
