Hello
I had a six month check up with my cardiologist the other day. He gave me a good reprt except for a few small leaks in my valves. He also said that my blood pressure was reading higher than it normally does.
It has only ever been high after I had had an operation and am in ICU.
I was wondering if any one else has gotten high blood pressure all of a sudden. I am quite stressed at the moment and feel that may have something to do with it. Does any one have any suggestions to keep high blood pressure down?
I appreciate the support I get from the people on this site and apologise that I don't visit it enough to see how you are all going.

Hi Kurli,
I have not had my valve replaced yet but a few month ago I went to see my cardiologist for a check up. She said my blood pressure was very high (160/80). I am very fit at the moment but I had a lot of strees at the time (job insecurity, moving house, an exam to do and also the worry about visiting the cardiologist). I bought my own bood pressure monitor and within a few days my blood pressure went back to normal (110/65). I was also fitted with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor one month after seeing the cardiolgist and the results were very good. I hope this can be of some use.

Martin
