One possible source is your County Health Department.
If they don't have any, they may at least know who does or if there are any available in your area.

One of our Local Pharmacies 'opened up' access to some 'extra' regular flu vaccines without preservatives that had been reserved for pregnant mothers and young children. I assume they did this to prevent them becoming unusable after some expiration date.

Bottom Line: ASK your usual outlets about their status.

Our county health department is the only entity that has availability to the vaccine. The hospitals had to acquire their supply via the health department.

So far, I've asked:
the county health dept
my PCP
my cardio
my GYN (!)
my grandson's pediatrician
the health center of the local university
the school where my husband teaches

By the way, I checked with my surgeon--he cleared me to get the flu-mist if that's what's available, even though it's live-virus. University of Chicago Hospital is apparently giving the flu-mist to all their heart surgery patients before they discharge them!

The regular flu shot is still available here. In fact, my son had an appt. at our pediatrician to get his tonight (the rest of us have already had it), but I had to cancel b/c he is sick. Our health dept got it's first shipment of H1N1 this week...I'm sure it is already gone.
