Hi all.

It's been a while since I posted but I still lurk quite often. I try and pretend that I don't have this ... so you know, posting means that I do. Anyway, I've finally gotten the courage to see another doc (after last year's series of mishaps) to find out more information about the status of my bicuspid and whether I can get pregnant. I hope it turns out my way. The doc I'm seeing is supposed to be a specialist in ACHA and pregnancy, so I hope to get all of my questions about what restrictions, if any, I have, answered. It will be nice to finally see someone who won't look at me as though I have four heads or to be the youngest person in the cardio's office.

I'm glad you popped back in to update us. It sounds like you have found a good new doctor who will address your concerns. Be sure to go in with a list of typed questions so you don't find later that you've forgotten to ask the ones you've hoped will be answered. We will be interested to hear all about your visit.

Remember to get copies of your reports to keep on file so you can compare them as the years progress. I don't have any from when I was in my 30's, pre-childbirth, and they would have helped me now (just me, I don't think the doctors care particularly!) had I known to get the copies then.

As the mother of 3, (soon to be empty nester) I just want to say that in my 23 years of mothering I've known many adoptive families, all of whom are equally successful and equally satisfied in their role as parents. Some people have impossible natural children, some have adoptives who, but for their features and maybe the color of their skin, you could not tell were from anywhere else. This yearning you have to be a mother can be answered, whether mother nature is going to let you have your own, or whether you may be given someone else's to raise. That you want children so deeply is what counts. In this huge world, not enough of the children born are wanted. This will work out for you.
