I am trying to catch up on everything I have missed lately. I was away for a few days at the beach. We go every year with my family. We go to OC Maryland. They do a beautiful Christmas Lights Show. The kids loved it.
I was also curious if anyone else has ever had this sort of pain. I first noticed it on Friday. It is on the left side just about at the bottom of my rib area. When I would bend over I would feel a dull pain and sometimes a more pronounced pain when I moved a certain way. I thought maybe it was my wires or something; or maybe I am just feeling more things again because the nerves are healing back together. I am 11 weeks post op. Every day I still notice the pain but it is much duller. It never was really bad.
On a scale of 1 to ten I would put it at a 1.

Happy Holidays To All!
Take Care!

Welcome home! Sounds like you enjoyed yourself.

The pain thing-It could be anything, but I'm thinking your right about some nerve endings starting to refire again. I know I'm going through some really weird sensations and I'm coming up on what, 20 weeks post op? :)

Gail,
I had pains in what sounds like the same place. The first time was in the hospital when I was hooked up to all the monitors. I asked a nurse about it, and she looked at the monitors, my BP, and said everything was just fine. Since then, I've had that same pain on rare occassions, but with nothing every coming of it.

My guess is that two things could be involved, the first you and Ross already mentioned, which would be nerves healing. The second thing is that our chest and abdominal muscles really get debilitated by this surgery, and as we start to move more it is possible to get twinges and even mild strains.

After going through rehab, most pains went away. But it wasn't really until 6 months out, after I'd resumed doing exercises like situps (crunches, actually) and pushups that every last pain finally disappeared. So now I don't have pains, but I am a carrier :D

As far as the wires go, they are not near that spot.

Gail, you will see a big difference in how you feel from 11 weeks (where you are now) to another month or two. The major healing has happened, but all the little "odds and ends" continue to improve every week. Hang in there, it just gets better!
