Best of luck tomorrow on your surgery. Hope you have it! :D

Take a deep breath and meditate, and I'll bet you'll have that deep calm wash over you sometime today. We'll all be here to help you up and over the mountain and to try to run the truck off the road!

You'll do fine. We'll be here cheering you on and ready to hear from someone (hint hint) about how you did.

Best wishes, prayers and cyber hugs go with you right into surgery.
:)

Well Susan are you ready for blast off or have you already blasted off? I remember the "day before feeling" very well. Do the best you can to relax and enjoy today. You'll soon be walking with the rest of us on the other side of the mountain and hopefully you'll be feeling better then you have in a long time.

Best of luck to you. ;)

Susan,

Believe us when we say we will be thinking of you and praying for you, because we will. God speed. I am almost jealous that you will be getting your surgery over two weeks before me. :)

Chris

Hey Susan,
Best of Luck tomorrow. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Just remember you will soon be on the other side of the mountain and on the road to recovery. I hope someone is going to keep us updated on how things went and how you are doing.
Take Care

Dave

We're all with you Susan. That's a lot of people around the operating table, and in your ICU room.

I hope someone can post for you and let us know how you did.

Bon Voyage and smooth sailing. We'll talk to you later.

God Bless.

The best of luck to you

Please tell hubby not to bring your age 11 year old into ICU. My age 33 year old son..had trouble seeing me. Sister had to hold on to him when he tried to say Hey, mama.. and he is 6ft. 3 in. and a policeman. Cried his eyes off. even tho nurse told him..she is fine. He came back the next night with my age 11 year old Grandson. He sat on bed with me and we watched T.V...read cards, ect.All tubes were gone by then.. That was 18 months ago..and he and I just came home from a camping trip in the Smokies. I wore him out.:p :p Trout fishing. ect...I think he is ready to go back to school tomorrow.:p Bonnie

How else is that boy going to learn that he wants to be a Heart Surgeon?

Without joking here, I don't believe in covering things up for smaller people. I truly think they need to see and to know what a person really goes through, so that they understand fully what's going on. That's my opinion and I'm sure you all think I'm nuts, but this is how my kids were raised.

Susan,

I truly hope all goes well for you tomorrow and that your entire hospital stay is as uneventful as possible.

I had my surgery in July and discussed the issue of having my 13 year old daughter visit me in ICU with a woman who was formerly a hospital-based clergy. She said that it is a very personal decision that should be made by the parents and the child. My husband and I talked it over with my daughter and she decided to wait to visit until I was in a room. I was still hooked up to monitors and the IV so she got a pretty good dose of reality!

Granbonny - Ross:

I think I am the one with an 11 yr. old daughter, or does Susan have one, too. I mentioned that Susan was having her surgery on my daughter's 11th Birthday - did I confuse everyone, or am I confused?

Thanks you guys for all your support. As a family we elected to only my husband and 21 year old daughter to come to the hospital tomorrow. My son - he's 19 and 11 yr. old daughter will stay home. I went with my 2 girls to a session with the surgeon's nurse to discuss how I would look afterward. My 11 year old took it much better than the 21 year old - she did not get upset - quite the opposite - she asked more questions than any of us. I am glad we included her - I wasn't going to take her to the talk but was strongly encouraged to do so by the nurse. In fact she even said how glad she was to know. It really helped my oldest daughter also - she is very emotional quite like her mother. She at least knows now what to expect and that it is all normal for someone undergoing this type of surgery.
I went to the hospital this afternoon for presurgery testing and all the paperwork jazz. I spoke to the anasteologist (I'll never spell that right). He was very good and reassuring especially about my breathing tube concerns. Big plus - he is gorgeous - won't mind waking up to see him ( after my husband of course LOL). I really feel good about the surgery and in a weird way looking foward to it - if nothing else the wait will be over.
Look forward to feeling - better - the old body won't know what hit it getting the right amount of oxygen.

I will get my daughter to post.
Thanks for sticking with me on what seemed to be a lifetime. New and healthier one starts tomorrow.

Susan

They were cute too.:p Ten in their group and all of them were gorgeous.:D That is why I put on makeup every morning.:p Bonnie

Congratulations Susan !

It sounds like you have found that 'peaceful place' before surgery and have a GREAT Positive Mental Attitude that will facilitate your rapid recovery. I was not surprised to hear that your youngest was the most curious and had the best outlook. It sounds like you will all do just fine.

Best wishes,

'AL'
