Just want to let yall know that we here in NH are supposed to really get belted with this snowstorm starting tomorrow afternoon/evening and going through to Sunday, so I just wanted to let yall know that since I have to work tomorrow night, I will be staying at the hotel until after the storm passes, probably until Monday, so I most likely won't be on chat on Sunday....Just wanted to let the gang know....Harrybaby:eek: :D  :D

Hey Harry...be careful out there....sounds like a good idea to stay at the hotel. Just when it looked like not much of a winter huh?

Wise

Hi Harry

Good idea....We're supposed to get it, too.....they're saying at least 6-12. UGH!!! The only good thing about it is that it might be our last one here in NY, so we're going to enjoy it for what it's worth.....Virginia gets snow, but not like us, that's for sure.

Spent the day grocery shopping, and picking up paint and things for Tyce to work on the house.....good idea. Right now he's getting the fireplace ready for a fire and we're just going to cook, work and watch outside. I shovel the deck and walk, but the rest of it will be done by a guy who plows for us......can't wait!!!

Think warm thoughts.

Evelyn

Hi Evelyn...Wise...

Hi Evelyn...Wise...

Evelyn, I hope you enjoy your move to Virginia and the less snow...thankfully, this has been a pretty mild winter, but I suppose that we had to have a storm at some point......

Wise,

Yes, I definitely think it's a good idea to be staying at the hotel, considering the fact that I will have to be at work during the height of the storm, and I will be careful, as I hope everyone who gets impacted with this storm is careful also.... Harrybaby:D  :D

Us ..too

Us ..too

Weatherman out of Atlanta..tonight..snow for all North Georgia Mountains..Maybe 1-3 inches then turning to rain.... I wish it would stay..but, afraid, it will turn to a cold rain... I knew we were in for a bad weekend. thank goodness, no plans..so Ev...like you..John has paint for bathrooms..to tied him over...Me, I just cook and stay on VR.Com:p hunker down,..Harrybabe. Bonnie

no no no!! Winter came in early and quick and left. I do not want it back, and the weathermen say we are getting 10 -15 inches!

Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

Stay Warm!

Stay Warm!

Harry, After all the #$%* you've been through the storm should be a cinch! I may be in the same boat, I work at a hotel in Boston. I could use the break from senior sitting at home! Latest forcasts here are being downplayed now. We'll see... Take care, Brian

Well, we just got the updated forecast.....snow will be starting late tonight with winds about 50 mph....what fun. We're expecting 8-12 with more inches over the eastern end of Long Island.....and guess who that is!!!! One of the forecasters said that it will be a drier snow which could.....mind you, could bring us about 15 inches. Soooo, I guess we'll get up tomorrow and start shoveling and then try to keep up with it during the day. It's supposed to end over ELI mid afternoon.

Scary, because many of our friends are leaving a dog show tomorrow in Jersey and heading into Westminster.....hope they make it!!!

Well Please Be Careful Shoveling Evelyn....

Well Please Be Careful Shoveling Evelyn....

I have me one of those Toro Power Shovels to help me with what little I have to do...my landlords plow me out and shovel me out whenever they can, thank god....but Please be careful OK? Harrybaby:D :D :D

Woohoo - our forecasters missed this one entirely! Woke up to @ 5 inches this morning (snow flurries were forecast for last night). Didn't even give our local yokel teevee reporters a chance to broadcast from the I55 overpass!

It's been snowing all day, too. I'm excited. And it's perfect - no wind, @ 30, kids all out making snowmen.

I know - it doesn't sound like much to our friends out east - and west - but we just don't get much snow in our neck of the woods, and this winter has been barren, so I've got my tea and a book and vr.com - life is good. :D

And to those of you all up and down the east coast - bummer. Good thing it's coming in on a weekend.

woke up to a very pretty 1 inch, wet snowfall. gone by Noon..Now, they are saying more winter weather from 9 P.m. until 6 a.m.. maybe another inch..but, high winds.. which cause us our main power outage. Pine trees, ect..falling on power lines. Bonnie

Well, here we go. It has started snowing here, and the revised forecast is 15-18+ for ELI.....should be heaviest between 12-8 tonight and tomorrow morning. The bad thing is the drifting....we live in farm country (if you can imagine that on long Island) and have tons of open land....not good as it makes huge drifts that blow over the roads again. Looks like we're really getting the blizzard!!!

Will keep ya'll posted, I just pray we don't lose power/heat.

Are you out in the potato fields? When I visited relatives in Hampton Bays I was most surprised at how agricultural it was out there.

Hey Evelyn,
We have a local dog that's headed to Westminster; I hope they get there! I believe he's a type of corgi. I can't remember the full name they will show him under but it's something Pot of Gold. He's #1 in the nation, so his owner and trainer are optimistic he'll make it through Monday, and into the finals Tuesday.

Hi Georgia...

Well, the potato fields are rapidly going over to truck farming, sod, or development. On the north fork we have MUCHO vineyards and potatoes. Actually, a friend of ours is the biggest LI potato grower on the island....guess he owns about 500 acres here. The sad part is that the development is rapidly encroaching.....

Mary...
That dog is probably there already. Most handlers com in either on Friday or Saturday.....my guess would be he came in on Wednesday or Thursday, did the local specialties they always have around the "garden time" and will show either Monday or Tuesday at WKC....Don't know when herding dogs are on. We have the Sporting group, and they always show on Tuesday. Should be fun to watch on Monday and Tuesday night on TV. We're not going in this year because the springers are on so late and getting home on the LIRR is a hassle. They're on at 2:45, so we wouldn't get a train out till 4 and that's rush hour....we'll watch it on tv and see who won the BOB class....Chances are the springer will either be Kelli Fitzgerald and her guy "James" or Robin Novak and her boy RB.....but, it's a dog show, so you never know.

Anyway, it's majorly snowing here, but they expect us to get the worst after noon....I've already shoveled the deck once and the walkway....will go out again at 12ish and hit it again. Tyce has swept off the cars and cleared the windshields and he'll do the same again, too. They're talking a minimum of 18-20 inches here, we'll see.
