While moving my classroom recently, I was loading several things in the back of my Durango. I went to close the hatch and slammed the corner of the hatch on the top of my head. After thinking "Ow, that hurt!" I continued what I was doing. Within a minute, I noticed blood streaming down my face from a cut right at the hairline. This was about 5:00 in the afternoon so I went home, took a shower, put a Band-Aid on the wound and preceded with my evening. At about 9:30, I took the Band-Aid off and realized that the cut was still bleeding and that it was about 1 inch long from my hairline in a vertical line down my forehead and gaping open. So I took myself to the ER, where they assured me that because of Coumadin it probably wouldn't have stopped bleeding anytime soon, and then they glued it together. The entire cut was about 3-4 inches long, but most of it was in my hair and wasn't that bad. Thank God for extremely thick hair! I felt very much like an idiot and now tend to back way up before closing the hatch. BTW, there were several hairs stuck to the corner of the hatch - I guess I scalped myself!
