I'm a writer who recently underwent a double bypass. Although I bought several books to prepare myself, they proved inadequate. I decided to write a book from the patient's point of view about open heart surgery.
Because experiences will be different, I am looking for contributors willing to share their experiences of open heart surgery. Mainly, what happened in pre-op, ICU, and recovery. Especially any useful things you discovered about helping get through this procedure.
(As an example I only found out about the 'heart hugger' device AFTER I could have used it. I had to rely on the outdated baby-pillow method.)
