Hello kind folks ...

I am back. I know I kinda dropped off and I apologize. I am currently underweight and have atrophy issues that I am attempting to reverse. Anyway, with that said I use Brown Rice Protein Powder. Though, my concern is Vitamin K ... my whole life I was told to avoid it thought I know that it is a nutrient that is needed.

With that said right now I am pretty sure I don't get very many nutrients. My question is if I wanted to use a Super Food in order to get my daily nutrients and boost my energy levels could it be done ? My current warfarin dosage is very low.

NOTE : it has 104% Vitamin K which I know must be very high though still I don't get hardly any Vitamin K at the moment, so I am just wondering ...

Here are the ingredients from the Organic Super Food :

Daily Value per serving of Vitamins & Minerals RDA%
Vitamin A 4%
Vitamin C 64%
Calcium 33%
Iron 22%

Riboflavin (B2) 42%
Niacin (B3) 6%
Vitamin B6 6%
Folic Acid 11%
Vitamin B12 171%
Biotin 1%
Pantothenic Acid 31%
Iodine 57%
Magnesium 15%
Zinc 68%
Selenium 14%
Maganese 30%

Beta Glucans 224mg
Chlorophylls 415mg
Flavoniods 77mg

Instead of using such a product, why not eat a healthy diet? Get the nutrients you need from proper eating and seeing you are underweight, enjoy the luxury of eating more calories than some of the rest of us can.

If there is an eating disorder issue (which is none of my business), it is almost surely likely your best advice would be from a medical professional who can asses your individual condition and needs. That is a specialized area of medicine even without putting coumadin ACT into the mix.

Wishing you the very best but think you could be doing something harmful to yourself with that product when you are trying to make yourself more healthy.

You can do it, but your INR is going to drop, so plan on having to adjust the dose up. If you home test, this won't be a big deal, but if you have to go to a doctor or clinic, it may be difficult. First thing they'll do is tell you not to do it. Not because it can't be done, but because they don't want to adjust your dose and prefer you diet the dose, which is completely wrong. you'll probably have about double your dose that your taking now, but I can't say it with certainty without knowing what dose you take and how much of this stuff you plan on using.

I agree with Jkm7 also. There are more nutritional ways to get where you want to be, but hey, it's your life.

Well, I was just curious about the super food because I don't take a vitamin is all.

Yes, you are correct in the proper eating would also be beneficial. No, there is no eating disorder anymore. I really am on the road to getting healthier.

I assure you I don't intend to harm myself. Yes, I have to go to the local hospital lab to get the PT/INR checked. My Cardiologist out right said everything basically affects Warfarin Sodium so that is why it has to be monitored.

My current dosage runs really low at around 2mg to 1.5mg taken at 8 p.m. I would have only used the serving size suggestion and no more than that.

Thank you ...

Well with 1 serving giving you 104% vit k of the RDA, your dose is going to have to be increased quite a bit if your having more then 1 serving per day. Even then, it's going to have be increased, but all things can be adjusted for.

100% of USRDA for Vitamin K is only about 80 mcg for women. That's about 1 small serving of green beans. If you're not eating any greenery at all, yes, your dose will need to be adjusted when you add in that food, especially if you eat it more than once per day.
Personally, I probably eat 400-500 mcg daily, in salads, and brussels sprouts, cabbage, spinach, olive oil, salad dressing, etc. etc. Or more.
I take about 4 mg of warfarin daily, and am still considered a low doser.
If you only take 1-2 mg daily, you are really really really a low doser. As you gain weight your dosage is going to have to increase anyway. Mine seems to get adjusted if I put on or lose 3 lbs!
