Hello Illinois. My training is going into 'high gear' now. So far the torn muscle (abductor muscle, that attaches to the hamstring) is holding up. It gets pretty tight after the 4 mile plus range, so untill that totally heals, I am running along the water and staying in the flats. Because of the injury, I incorporated biking and swimming for a couple of weeks, and enjoyed it so much, I am continuing to cross train as much as possible. By doing that it builds muscles that support the running muscles. Their is a good chance I tore that muscle for that reason; a weak muscle trying to support a strong muscle. I am even getting my wife on the bike now, so it has been fun that respect. If anyone wants to see my web site, here it is ...
Also their is now a site, if you would like to support my efforts. Thank you so much for all of those whom already have. On the other issue I seem to be doing much better, and will be seeing the doctor for a follow-up this afternoon. Take care neighbors ... Mark

If we can get you to stop tearing muscles, you'll be well on your way to???????? who knows.

I'm glad to see World Vision put a sponsership page up. That should take quite a load off of you and they. I would encourage anyone who hasn't done so already to please think about this worthy cause. ;)

Hi Mark,

Good morning friend. You rang?

Great weather we are having in the "Windy City". So happy to hear you are doing better.

Slow it down....;) before you really tear it up!

When I have a moment....will take a look at your links. Are you in Chicago now?

Take care

Wow, Mark, that is something you are doing! Good luck and best wishes.

P.S. I enjoy Runners World Mag. One of my bosses here at work has done marathons and he gives me his magazines when he is done with them.

Has Runners World done an article on you yet? You are amazing.

Peg

Hello "All"
No article from 'Runners World' magazine yet. I know my story was sent to them by 'World Vision'. The story has appeared in the newpaper, 'The Bremerton Sun' and magazines, 'Northwest Runner' 'Christian Times' and 'Sports etc.' Those are all local magazines. The 'biggie' which hopefully will draw a lot of support comes out on Sunday the 24th of this month, as the 'Seattle Times' newspaper is doing a layout on me in the Pacificnorthwest magazine section..fitness column. The story has been written and I was photographed running out around Green Lake in Seattle.
Quite a few bussinesses are getting behind the effort, where their donations of $100.oo or more gets their name on a banner that well be displayed at the marathon in Victoria, Canada. Individuals that sponsor me for any amount, will also have their names on the banner.
One Christian radio station had me on for an hour segment, where I had the chance to tell my story; and numerous web sites have put out the story. I am also being supported by letter, from an African runner whom recently won a marathon in Australia. He and his wife are both gold medalists, and recently ran for charity to help fight the HIV/aids epedemic in thier home country. Hopefully all these combined efforts can help make a difference in in a handful of childrens lives. On a personal note, prayers are accepted! Mark :)
