Head and neck pain post-op

Have any of you had nagging head pain (especially temples) and neck pain (especially back of neck) after surgery? I have been having this since my surgery 7/21/05. I've had a bunch of MRIs w/and wo GAD of the head and neck and all they come up with is a couple of lumps in my thyroid. I also have low thyroid output. I'm following up on the thyroid stuff but I don't think the head and neck pain are related. It almost feels like the pain you get when you're getting the flu but I've had it for 4 months. It's worse at night and better in the AM. Suggestions?

Mom's had a horrible headache off and on that sounds much like yours ever since her surgery as well. She often has to take something for that pain long before she needs anything for surgical pain...

I started having bad headaches on the lower right back 1/4 of my head about 4 weeks after surgery. They were so painful that they did an emergency MRI.

I can normally deal with a lot of pain, and didn't require pain pills for more than a week after my surgery, but these headaches would bring everything else to a halt. I never got an answer as to what causes them, but, thankfully their frequency has started to diminish after three months. I don't believe I had ever had a real headache before thses. I wish I had more of an answer, but that is all I know.
