Hi everyone:
Well I thought I'd let you know that on april 21, my brother had the surgery. He had an episode on saturday of CHF and the surgeons moved him up to the CSU, and on mon he had his valve replaced.
So far everything is going ok. The first night he lost about 200cc's of blood and it was thought that they were going to have to take him back in, but thank god they gave him 4 units of blood and some other stuff and it stopped. He his responsive but he is still on the ventillator. The staff is working with him in weaning him off, but he doesn't tolerate it well. the nurses say everyonr heals at a different rate, so right now we are keeping our fingers crossed and saying lots of prayers. Everything else looks good!
I was wondering if anyone here had a little problem coming off the ventillator also?
I will keep you all updated with his healing. We don't care how long it takes, as long as he gets better. We have nothing but time to help him. It's funny how things like this give you a whole new respect for life and the things that are really important. God bless you all and your families, these heart patients are truly miracles.
Please keep Robert in your prayers....
