I want to know, because today, I found out from the surgeon that the CT was ok and I asked him about Coumadin and he said that some people have internal bleeds but he didnt see that on my CT. But yet, I still have this pain. He made appt for me to see a gastro and probably a colonoscopy. So how bout it, anyone ever have abdominal pain attributed to coumadin?

Nope, but I did have the start of an ulcer that created a huge problem. Not from the Coumadin, but from all the other acid like pills I have to take.

I had once a sharp abdominal pain mainly on the right side for almost a week and I had a CT scan to check ovaries and appendix, and right after the scan the pain disappeared on its own. It was not due to Coumadin nor knew what it was due to.

Thanks those who responded. Marsha...yes he is considering those things, that's why he wants me to go to a gastroenterologist. Eva, the pain has let up a bit. I think my bowels may be the problem. Gastro appt July...stay tuned.

Nope never & I've been on coumadin for 34 years!

Many years ago, I was having a severe pain on my right side kind of in the pelvic region. It turned out that I had a massive ovarian cyst that had burst & I had to undergo a complete hysterectomy. I've never had any more adominal problems after that, thank God.

I hope that you find out what's causing your discomfort & get to feeling better soon!

Colleen:

Another thing: If you have not had a complete hysterectomy, you might also want to check with your OB/GYN if the GI doc doesn't find anything and your problem continues.

Good luck.

I experienced sharp abdominal pain several weeks after my surgery. Turned out to be bowel problems - I was taking iron pills and even with a stool softener things weren't working all that well. Saw the surgeon's PA about it - they did take some x-rays to rule out other problems - turned out that basically things were getting backed up in the intestine - and some of the 90 degree loops were right where my pain was. Told me to eat oatmeal - called it the perfect food for bowel problems. Helps with constipation, helps with the other. Once I got that under control the pain disappeared. Hope it's something as simple for you.

Thanks for responding everyone...I feel much better today. It only hurts now if I press on it...there was alot of gas recently, some diarrhea...took a lomotil and no more gas! Much better. May not even go to the gastro.
