Just saw in a post by Gina that Lovenox has once again been approved for bridge therapy with valve patients.

Yes or no?? Inquiring minds want to know.

Nancy, it has...though I have been unable to locate the supporting documentation. There was a short blurb on one of the sites I frequent a few months back.

I confirmed this information with my cardioligist. If I find the FDA doc...will post it. I am sure Al Lodwick has the info. Al?

Lovenox

Lovenox

Am anxiously awaiting Al's response to the Lovenox question. Used to love keeping this around, for those 1.5 INR days... provided a sort of safety net and certainly reduced the stress of waiting to increase INR. Whats the scoop, Al??

I used lovenox for hernia repair 6 weeks ago. The bos said not intended for heart valves, but used it anyway at cardio's insistence.

Still have some left over - had to buy it in 10 dose box - had never thought about keeping for contingency of low INR.

I loved having it around for those really low INR times. The Doc approved it, since I too had to buy 10 of them, and quite expensive as I recall. I never used one without discussing it with my coag clinic first of course, but it was handy.
After your post about Lovenox, I did go and throw two out due to outdating!
