I just came back from a walk; not a long one, maybe a mile. I noticed that I was having difficulty getting a deep breath. I wasn't exactly short of breath, I just felt the need for a nice deep breath and I couldn't get one. Before OHS I had this all the time. It never kept me from doing anything, in fact I used to walk an hour a day at that time.
I'll be seeing my cardio in a few days so I will run this past him, but I would still like to hear from anyone who knows about this symptom. There's always someone here who knows the answer to a question.;)
Thanks,
Barbara

It almost sounds like asthma.. do you have allergies? My sister was taking some medication that did something similar to her. She felt like she couldn't take a deep breath, and as a result she started to panic. Anyway, when she went to the doc, they said that it sounded like asthma.

I hope you feel better soon
:)

I agree with savysmommy about it maybe being a symptom of asthma. I have suffered from asthma since I was a young child and sometimes get the feeling of not being able to take a deep breath. I was prescribed an albuterol inhaler that works wonders. I don't use it daily, just as needed.

I would definitely ask your doctor, though. Good luck! :)

I do have allergies and right now here in South Texas something called mountain cedar is pollinating. It is noxious and I'm very allergic to it. It is very possible that it is allergies. THanks guys. I knew someone had some info. I will still run it by my cardio.
Thanks again,
Barbara

My son was having problems with that for 4 years or so. Our GP kept diagnosing it as stress related. I finally took him to my cardio, who used some sort of machine and diagnosed him as having moderate asthma. She said "moderate" might not sound like a big deal, but it's something he needs to control with daily inhailers.

I get it, I have one and off certainly since my surgery. As far as I am aware I don't have asthma. A few months ago they gave me test for my breathing because of my complaints about not being able to breath properly. It seems to come in cycles, I hae it for a while then will have a period of time without it - I have it again now, it started a few days ago. I am prepared to accept it as being to do with stress although I am not sure what stress I have just now.

A month or two back I was concerned enough to see a doctor twice in a week. I have since seen my cardiologist and had an echo and ECG. I haven't received a call so I assume they are normal.

Dear Barbara,

Sorry to hear of your breathing problems. I can relate. I too have bouts off and on of sob or not being able to take in a deep breath. I've had numerous tests and my cardiologist just tells me that its due to all the numerous heart problems I have and he just treats each bout as they come.

I've got a question. I read your bio and see you have right branch bundle block. I have left branch bundle block and my cardio doesnt seem to overly concerned either. On my last ech my EP was better but it said I had mild pulmonary hypertension now along with everything else! What kind of problems have you had with the rbbb?

Stay well. Alicia

Hi Alicia,
As far as I know I had no problem with RBBB, however, I now have a pacemaker because I developed sick sinus syndrome. As long as the sinus node and the other bundle branch are working there's no problem, but if you develop electrical problems it becomes and issue.
I also have pulmonary hypertension, but I don't think it is causing me problems. My pulmonologist told me it is not a subtle thing, so I choose to ignore it.
I hope that answers your question.:D
Barbara
