Harlans Recovering

Just wanted to let everyone know that Harlan's surgery went well this morning. He is still in ICU as he has had some bleeding which has meant staying sedated and on the vent longer than anticipated while they work to control it. His doctor indicates that the bleeding is diminishing and he is doing well otherwise, so hopefully he will be awake and off the vent by morning. I will try to update you later. We appreciate everyone's support and good wishes.

Harlan is doing well except for feeling nauseous which they are working on controlling. He spent almost the entire day in intensive care, but only because a bed was not available in the step-down unit. The bleeding has subsided, and he was taken off the vent around 3 this morning and was moved to the cardiac unit late this evening. This morning one of the first things he wanted to know was whether I had let all of you know how he did with the surgery! Hopefully he will be feeling and eating better tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.
