Hi Gang,

I just thought that I would vent a little. It seems as if my depression is really kicking in... I am finding out that I am becoming more and more limited in what I am able to do, and I don't like it..For instance, I have been ever so slowly doing a sizeable project for a friend, and it has some lifting. Now, I haven't been told by the cardio as to what I can, and can't do, but when I was working on it yesterday, I started having chest pains, excessive coughing, and became extremely fatigued..this being the case, I Backed Off. However, I have really been exhausted today, and just climbing stairs was very painful (In the legs) and I just feel wiped out. I still don't know much about what is coming down the road, but I surely am finding out my limitations quickly. I am sorry, I just had to get it off my chest. Harrybaby666:(

Hi Harry-

These are important things to call your cardiologist about. Do it tomorrow.

I'm not sure, but you haven't yet had surgery, right?

Don't do any more lifting or anything else that has just given you symptoms until you discuss it with your card. It's obvious that your heart is getting stressed. Write down each and every symptom so you have a list to refer to when you see the card.

And if you are feeling funny in any way, please get to the ER.

Take care, Harry. Let us know how things go.

Mornin, Harry - I am so sorry to hear that things are catching up with you. Maybe it's time to go for another visit to the cardio so they can start talking about what's next.

The depression can also be debilitating so hope you are getting help in that direction, as well.

Please take care - come in and vent. But contact your doctor, if an appointment isn't in the offing. God bless. Ann

Get to your cardio. Do what Nancy says. We'd all be better off if we'd do what Nancy says all the time. ;) Just look at Joe -

I'm a mitral valver - and I'm-a thinkin' that things are going downhill.

Be depressed - you have stuff to be depressed about. But meanwhile, get to the doc and get this evaluated. And DON'T lift anything until you see him/her.

We're thinking about you - let us know how things go.

hi harry!
not much to add here.... just that several months before joey had his surgery, he suddenly became very symptomatic and his cardio told him to severely cut back on his workouts. he was so upset feeling so debilitated.
he is now, 2 yrs post surgery, working out ,doing well, and feeling strong. so, in the end you will feel so much better.

please do see your doctor. sometimes these things accelerate and progress faster than you expect..
just to be on the safe side.
we know you are upset, frightened, etc.; please bring it to us, we're here for you.
wishing you all the best, sylvia

over doing it

over doing it

As one who has the same Dx what the hell were you doing lifting? You know that people with our Dx are in a different boat...there is nop fixing it. It will slowly get worse by it's self. Lets try not to help it along shall we.

I will be in touch with the cardio!

I will be in touch with the cardio!

Hi Nancy, Hensy,

I just want to thank you again for your encouragement, and to let you know that I will be in touch first thing in the morning with my cardiologist's office. I couldn't today, because I had to be in Lebanon, NH which is 2 hours from where I live, to see about my kidney surgery. It seems as if they even have to be careful with that too. I didn't get back in time to call my Cardio, so I will be doing that first thing in the morning. Also, no, I haven't had any heart surgery yet. I am still trying to worm out of my doc any other info he is not telling me about...LOL Thanks for your support, and I hope all is going great with you two. Harrybaby666:D :D :D :D

Hi Georgia

Hi Georgia

Hi Georgia,

Thanks for your concern and caring. I have not been told yet by my cardio as to what to do and not do, and you know, it's amazing how quickly you learn on your own what not to do anymore. I wonder just how shocked my doc will be when I tell him what's been going on...? Harrybaby666:D :D :D

So Worn OUT!

So Worn OUT!

Hi Silvia,

How did your hubby EVER deal with being so worn out? I drove 4 hours today to and from Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital for a kidney surgery consult, and I am absolutely wiped out. I hope that if I have to have heart surgery, it will be soon so I can start feeling better. I definitely know how he feels with being discouraged with being dibilitated. I have always been one who likes to get things done, and when I can't do them to my normal speed and satisfaction, well, this is where the depression sets in...mind you, I love the rests that I have to take, and I love to sleep, but at the same time I hate it because I am not getting done what I would like to see done. Tell me, did your husband sleep alot before his surgery? I seem to be going to bed earlier and earlier, and usually, I am a nightowl. Take care, and I hope your husband is feeling great. Harrybaby666:D :D :D

Didn't expect this sooooo soon!

Didn't expect this sooooo soon!

Hi Medtronic,

Your slap on the wrist is well taken...as I told the others, my cardiologist up to this point, has not imposed any limitations on me, BUT, AND I DO MEAN BUT!, I am finding out quickly just how limited I have become, and will be telling the doc when I talk with them in the morning. I know now that I cannot do anything like that again, but it's hard when you still want to do things. I am sure you can relate to this? Anyway, How are you doing? Any New News on your end? I hope all is going well, and I PROMISE TO RELAX ON THE INDEPENDENT STREAK FROM NOW ON... Do you think I need IPA? (Independent Person's Anonomys? LOL) Take Care, Harrybaby666:D :D :D

Hi Harry-

You were asking about being sleepy. Prior to Joe getting "fixed up" for the umpteenth time, he used to go to bed at 7 PM, sometimes 6:30., and then nap during the day. He was so terribly fatigued. It's not unusual to feel that way. Now he stays up till 10:30 or 11. He gets up at 5:30 or 6 AM. He still naps a little during the day, but he's retired, so he can do that.

Take care,

Whew! What a Relief

Whew! What a Relief

Thanks again Nancy for the info, I am soooooo tired of being tired all the time. I just didn't realize that something so subtle can mean so much...now to try and convince the cardiologist...lol maybe I should fall asleep during a visit? LOL :D Harrybaby666

Wellll Nowwwww!!! LOL

Wellll Nowwwww!!! LOL

Well Thank You Nancy!!!

This is the kind of thing that I have been hunting for...I have been to many websites, but the information seems so incomplete. I mean that most of the sites that I have been to have given a brief overview, but not gone into depth as to what this site does...Thanks Again, and I will pass this along. Harrybaby666:D :D :D
