Hi Everyone!

The holiday carving schedule is set. Happyheart beats the turkey by a few days -- he's 2 weeks from today (Nov 23), and I'm right after the turkey -- 3 weeks from today (Nov 30)!

I've been so covered up lately I haven't had time to keep up with the board or post, but now I'll FIND time for it! Nothing like impending surgery to get a person organized! I met with my surgeon (Dr. William Ryan) this morning and since then have an unbelievable sense of calm. I know he's the one for me. After all, he practiced on Chilihead and Countryboy so I know he's ready for me now!

I'm so glad that now I have something definite to plan for. We have out-of-town guests coming for Thanksgiving and I'll be able to enjoy them. Then by Christmas I should be feeling pretty good too so for me the timing seems perfect. This is going to be the first time in my lifetime that I didn't wait til the last minute to Christmas shop! In fact, with this mighty motivation, I've already done most of it online. It will be a different Christmas this year for a lot of reasons!

The other side of the mountain is in sight and it sure looks good! Can't wait to join all you folks on the "post" side.

God bless you all. It's good to be back.

KAy,

It does seem odd that you can get that kind of reaction when you've found your surgeon.

When we left the office after I found my surgeon, my wife and I went walking through New Brunswick, just to see what was there. I was dancing in circles around her the whole time, like a new puppy, incredibly happy and relieved.

It sounds like you are doing well in your getting ready phase. You may still have some rocky moments, nerves, and a few skipped beats, but somewhere inside you know you're on the right path.

Best wishes,

Hello Kay:
I wish you the very best on your upcoming surgery. I will be praying for you and know you will do just fine. Think happy thoughts and look forward to a wonderful holiday season. The worst will be behind you and you will be able to put ornaments on the Christmas tree! Keep your head up!
Dawn

Good Luck

Good Luck

As I have told you in email, Dr. Ryan is good. The nurses at Presbyterian are wonderful--I thought I was the only patient. I will keep in touch as you get closer, but my wife and I have you in our prayers. Stay calm and think postive thoughts.

God Bless,

Bobby

ps--just east of the nurses station on the 4th floor (where you will be) is where the ice cream is kept--makes a good midnight treat :) :) :)

Kay, you will be in my prayers and we will look forward to hearing from you on the other side of the mountain. I promise you will feel so much better.

Thanks Everybody! All the prayers are definitely appreciated.

The support on this board is so incredible. Between this board, listening to my guided imagry heart surgery tapes, and having met my surgeon, I'm feeling calmer tonight than I've felt in 2 years. Yes, I still dread some things -- the tube, etc -- but I'm hardly even thinking of any of the bad stuff. I just feel blessed to be so close to getting better that I'm actually almost looking forward to the big day.

And thanks, Bobby, for locating the icecream for me. I just KNOW I'll be appreciating that when the time comes! Any other inside info you happen to think of, feel free to pass along!
