Hi I wanted to share since I'm getting pretty excited, BUT wed we leave for Give kids the World on Justin's wish trip ) we are going to disney and one day at discovery Cove since part of Justin's wish was to swim w/ the dolphins. then last week I found out about some disney boards and illumination cruises, I always wonderred who was on the boats in the lagoon@ epcot during the night show and from the board I learned there are a few (like 5 boats that hold 10 people, so they go very fast you book 90 days out first come first serve, well some how I managed to get 3 spots on one of the pontoon boats, we have 4 people going so I will stay back but that is fine w/ me, I know Justin will have a great time and that's what matters to Mom, he has had a few kind of stinky years, so this is so needed.) and I'm not telling him about the boat thing until we get to the loading dock.it will just be some of that Disney Magic.
I may be picking the Florida peoples brains the next few days when I start packing lol, but wanted to share our excitement, well most of our excitement, poor Justin has been let down on too many things because of his health, so he won't let him self get too excited intil his feet are on the ground in florida.
Lyn www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw ps so WHAT is the weather like there now? lol

Hi, I live in Florida, I think November and December are the best months here. And I have been to Disney in November, you should not get the crowds that you would get at other times of the year. I hope you all have a wonderful time, you certainly deserve it.. Rose

I'm so glad Justin is getting the opportunity to make this trip and your family will be there to share it. :) :) :)

Ross has checked the weather forecast for you, so I checked the "crystal ball" forecast to see if there were any glitches looming that might prevent your going.
Good news! You're good to go!
If you don't believe me, just ask this guy.;) ;)

Im sure you will have a great time regardless of the weather. Go and have some well deserved FUN.:)

This sounds like such a wonderful trip and the boats will be the icing on the cake.

Have a great time and don't forget the pictures.

I'm soooo jealous Lyn! We were there for 2 weeks in august and had the best time ever!! We're desperate to go back.

Hope you have a fantastic time (I'm sure you will!) - Justin, and you!! deserves it!

Love Emma

How exciting!!! Hope we'll get to see some pictures!! My husband and I went in late December one year, and it was perfect!!! It should be starting to cool off now, and the crowds aren't nearly as horrid this time of year. Have enough fun for all of us here, which I am quite sure you will!!!!

thank you all so much. I know how much you guys care for the younger ones and take joy in their good parts. here's the link to Justin's carepage, I'm going to try to put pictures on it each day, altho since the pictures up now are from around the time of his last surgery in the spring, I'm not that good w/ computers lol anyway it's www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw there are and will be pic on the home page and in the photo album page, Lyn

one of my high school classmates works at GKTW. Any thing you need to know about Florida, ask away. I've lived here most of my life and been to Orlando lots of times - lived there 6 mos once. If you need I can ask Martha - I think she's a greeter or escort or something like that. We are old, so if you meed an old lady who has lots of class and is well dressed, that might just be my fr iend Martha. I will send her this thread so she might look for you and Justin.

Oh, Lyn, I amso happy for you guys...........

Oh, Lyn, I amso happy for you guys...........

I still think Justin will like his guitar over Disney, but he will still have afabulous time. You know we were going to do that last year. Katie was approved, but then communication glitches cropped up, so we tabled her wish indefinitely until she can really decide what she wants. Remember, her first wish was for Lola Bunny to come to life..............sigh! I'm excited for you. I hope the weather is wonderful and that y'all have a glorious time. I will be looking for those pics. Many hugs. J.

the weather should be quite warm, but take a jacket just in case. This year is a bit odd. It is very windy most days in Orlando because it's not far to the Atlantic but temps are very pleasant and once you get in the sun it's downright hot so have shorts except for nighttime. It is also very humid which makes the temp feel hotter and you sweat! Don't forget the sunscreen and apply it often during the day because the sweat washes it right off.

Thank you so much and Ann I would love to meet your friend, please do pass on this thread, I have heard such wonderful things about the people at GKTW. Lyn

Lyn I have written to Martha a couple of times about your trip and she wrote this to me this morning:

How can I write directly to her The boats are a wonderful idea, very few people know about that.

If you want to give me your email address, send me a private mail and I will send it on to her. She will be very helpful to you because she's right there with all the info.

Lyn, here's another email from Martha - can't get no better'n this, can we? Service, that is. Send me your email anyhow so I can send on to her:

When your plane lands follow the overhead signs that say Baggage claim, you will get on a tram that will take you to the main termina. When you get off the tram you will be behind security, follow the traffic flow, there will be a greeter holding a sign which says Give Kids The world Village welcomes Justin Wyatt. This greeter will take you down to get your luggage, help you find your rental vehicle and tell you how to get to the village. The back of the sign has our # here 407-396-1114 should you get lost. If you don't see a greeter do not leave the area, go to any courtesy phone and dial 2325, if you don't get an answer there call us at the village. You will need change for the toll road that you will be on. The first toll is $1 and there is an attendant who can give you change. 2nd toll is unattended and you will need 50 cents. Should you feel you are lost call the village. Drivers in this area are very rude, drive too fast and do not use turn signals. Your flight is due in at 1:35 so you should be here no later than 3. We have sandwiches and hot dogs in the ice cream palace and after 4 you can order pizza from your villa. The villas are 2 br 2 bath. Master BR has a king size bed, 2nd has two twins and a huge bathroom, which has a roll in shower and Jacuzzi. There are washer and dryers in the hall. You do your own housekeeping, but if you need fresh bedding or towels we can get them to you. Food--Hot-

Breakfast 8-10 in the ginger Bread House or you can call 0 and we will send the breakfast cart to your villa with a continental breakfast. Ice Cream Palace has hot dogs and sandwiches up until around 3ish. And unlimited ice cream from 7 a.m. to 9ish. Pizza service starts at 4. Hot supper in Ginger Bread House 6-8. Every Thursday is Christmas so dinner is turkey loaf. It snows on the avenue at 6:45 and 8, Santa is in the castle from 6:45 until 9. The entire family can sit with Santa and Mrs Claus and have a family picture. Also you will have a photo session with Mickey and Minnie in the theatre Your photo session will most likely be on Thursday They will give you an appointment time for this and it is critical that you be on time. CLOTHING----Very casual, shorts T's comfy socks and tennis. Shoes. They like you to limit your luggage to 1 bag per person and you will be taking back goodies. Justin will be given a name tag when he arrives and it is good to wear it everywhere. It opens many doors for you. You will also be given guest assistance passes to universal and Disney. The name tag is shown at Sea World. You will get 3 disney hoppers (this means you can go from park to park in a single day) 2 to Universal (Islands of Adventure is the park with the big rides and the other one is the original like in California, has shows like jaws etc. One thing I will urge you to do if you do nothing else is see Legend of the Lion King at Disney's animal kingdom. They literally build a stage in front of you and create the most beautiful show you will ever see. They put families up front.so you are right in the show. There is a safari at the animal kingdom if you like being with the animals. You ride on a lori thru the savannah there are giraffes, lions all sorts of neat stuff, right there near you. Don't try to remember all of this, you will attend an orientation when you get here and we have park pointers in the Ginger bread who are knowledgable about all the parks, you will also get park brochures. Additionally they sometimes have availability at Medieval times, Pirates show, space center, gatorland airboat rides. Wet n' wild. Plus there is always someone at the front desk to assist you with any issues, medical or otherwise.

Anyway that's about it. I work Tue thru Fri 8-6 so hope to get to meet you. Safe trip and I can guarantee you will have a wonderful time.

wow, after reading this, I want to go, too. Ann
