Happy father's day to all you dads. The value of a dad is so often underated. It is a position of such great importance in a family. I had a great dad and still think of him everyday. My husband also is a great dad...he even claims to have finished raising too me since we got married so young. He said he got to me just in time to finish me off the way he wanted.

Jeff wrote a song titled It takes a man to be a dad. If I can find the link to it I will post it. It's an awesome song. It basically says anyone can be a father but it takes a man to be a dad. AKA biology doesn't make you a dad just a father.

Father's Day

Father's Day

Hope all dad's on the site have had a wonderful day. Here in Brazil we celebrate it on the second Sunday in August so, it's still a while to go until then. That was a lovely wee song! I was able to listen to most of it before it got cut and if you don't mind, I'll be playing it for my husband Robert on Father's Day here.

Today was pretty nifty.

My wife and son got me a shirt that says, "World's Greatest Dad" and made me wear it all day (I'm still wearing it here at the office...)


We went to a local strawberry festival for lunch. I had to write a story on the event for the newspaper, along with shooting a few photos, so I got paid to go... =)

Had some VERY good chicken BBQ and then strawberry shortcake for dessert plus the kid got to play a few games and win some treats for his efforts.

Then we got home and I actually got to camp out on the couch for a while watching TV which they NEVER let me do. =)


Of course, now I'm at work and that's kind of a bummer, but it's a light night.


Hope all the other dads (and GRANDDADS) had as wonderful or better days than I did. =)
