Wow, you all are quick this morning. What a nice way to wake up Actually, my husband and I are heading to the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis in a few hours to watch the boys compete in the State Marching Finals tonight. I've never been, but everyone assures me that it is quite a fantastic site to see all those great bands competing in that huge venue. They're competing in the largest class (Class A) and have some stiff competition so I'll let you know how they do tomorrow. Take care everybody and thanks again for the early-morning greeting

Well, the band got 5th place in class A (biggest bands in the state) out of 10. There are three or so Indianapolis area teams that just dominate; in fact, the winner has 300 kids in it compared to our 205. A Fort Wayne team (Homestead) also produces a top five every year, so we we Southern Hoosiers were proud to break the top 5. We had a few rifle glitches, and one of my sons said something about the ending, but none of the parents noticed it. One of the neatest things for my husband and me was seeing both of our sons' faces on the big RCA Dome t.v.s that are used to show the closeups of the Colts. Both of our kids are in the pit (the area up front with the mirimbas and timpanis) so their faces were up there several times. It was cool. Take care, all.
