Thank you, dear VR friends!
It has taken me a full month to respond due to health problems--a ruptured eardrum following a plane flight and terrible vertigo lasting for weeks. At least it temporarily cured my habit of too much internet! The initial vertigo attack landed me in the hospital on intravenous meds and since then I've had varying degrees of dizziness. But at last, one month later, I've regained most of my hearing and am rarely troubled by the vertigo.
It's great to check in. Matt is doing well and is off to college in Sept. He has decided to stay with his peds cardio through the next four years and then seek out an adult congenital cardio to take over. His college is in MN (St Olaf), very close to the Mayo Clinic which we had already decided to go with when surgery time arrives--may it be far in the future!
Hope you are all doing well. You'll always feel like family, having seen me through the first days, months and years of coming to terms with Matt's diagnosis--it's been 6 yrs now!
