Hi Jessica, I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday, and I hope you are doing well! You are only a year and a half older than I am, and have been through so much! I remember the post that you made when you found out you needed your transplant. I was so worried about you. I hope you had a great day! Sorry this is late, I have been out for a couple of days with not much time on the computer. Here's to you Jessica! Have a great year!

I unfortunately don't come by here much these days, since my valves are now in working order

Anyway, I am doing pretty good. Have been able to return to work at a VERY modest workload of 10 hours per week. It's going well if you disregard a brief stopover in hospital I had to make due to sepsis.
I am continuing to have problems deriving from the medications I take and I have lasting neurological effects from encephalitis but all in all I shouldn't complain. I am still getting used to this whole setup and growing more comfortable with the fact that this is the way things will be. I was told by a consultant doctor at work that in his clinical opinion it takes upwards of two to three years before your mind and body catches up with the other following a transplant and I believe him to be right so I believe better days will follow

Jess - I can't believe our 'man in charge of birthdays' missed yours. I think he might just come on in here and put up some balloons or something.

I hope your birthday was a wonderful day for you and that you enjoyed some moose stew! Along with some birthday cake and ice cream, of course.
