Hi, all!
I had my exercise ABI this morning, and I hate my leg. It's been hurting since my last walk two days ago. As many of you know, I've been having leg pain with exertion, namely when I have been running (which I stopped, by the way, and now just walk at a moderate pace--and even then, my leg goes "owie"!). This was the proverbial cherry on the top of my spring break sundae!
I went in to see my cardio on Wednesday, and I have actually been doing pretty well on the Multaq, now that I'm past the brief dizzy spells and tummy issues. My cardio then decided since I was there, I should go ahead and have a Holter on Thursday (yesterday) to get it out of the way before spring break ends. He doesn't want me missing work to see him, but funny, it always turns out that way! This morning before my ABI, I got the Holter off.
It seems that, as the echo tech briefly stated, the pressure in my right leg increased slightly after the 6 minutes on the treadmill, but not by much (that's definitely good!). But here's the thing: I was supposed to see my cardio later this month, but since I went in yesterday (I guess I wasn't on the schedule although I had the appt. marked on my cell phone calendar and my home calendar), they canceled my other appt., which I've already taken time off to do. Now I don't have an appointment until September (already scheduled as this August's post-echo follow up). That seems like a long time to wait to get my test results. My cardio's medical assistant spoke with both my cardio and nurse, and said that if need be (if the test reveals more scar tissue buildup/arterial stenosis), they will call me with the test results, otherwise, I should just sit tight until Sept..
It's nearly mid-April, and September seems like a long way off. I know my cardio is busy, and he is leaving for vacation next month (he won't return until late August), but should I just go ahead and call about the results in a couple weeks? I don't want to be a bother, but five months is a long time to wait, and I also don't want to have to try to get squeezed in to see my cardio, especially since I don't want to lose more sick time in doing so.
I know what you all will say, so please confirm what I should do!
Thanks!
