I have noticed the Lance Armstrong livestrong bracelets everyplace.

As I continually remind everyone who will listen, heart disease kills many more people than cancer (my father died of cancer and I dread it)
But I am wondering if we could latch on to this phenomena with red bracelets to bring awareness of heart disease?
Any thoughts?

I must be really out of touch. I had to go look these up to see what they were. I don't know Jim, it's an idea. I have trouble coming up with those.

It sounds like an interesting idea. What would you have in mind as far as production and marketing?

There are red bracelets for heart disease out there already. I saw them at Academy.

I thought there might be. However, how about red bracelets with the valve replacement logo? Dave had the key chains made with the logo, so it must be "do-able."

I'd buy and wear one, and I would like to give them to others whom I know have valve problems.

Red string tied about the left (I think it's left anyways) is a sign that one is a follower of Kabalah, an ancient form of the Jewish faith...

Just thought I'd point that out.

Oh, red string is also used from time to time in a blessing offered by Tibetan monks, again, on the left wrist.

I'm wearing my red bracelet (on my left wrist) as I type this. It says "Battle Heart Disease" and "Methodist DeBakey Heart Center" and has two Texans logos. I believe they were passed out at a recent Texans game. Mine came from one of my students, whose mother works at Methodist. There's also a pink bracelet for breast cancer. I can't remember exactly what it says, but it's cool because it says something about hope.
