mimmidoe

Hi guys.
I am ashamed. I feel like Im calling an old friend that I have neglected. Ever do that? Well, Im back. :)

Jessica has been very kind in writing to me... and she is so full of information. (make that comfort!). On June 12th I had EPS with an ablation. On June 13th, I got more hardware. A Guidant Pacemaker/Defibrillator. Im pretty much over it, as far as healing. I look like I have a pack of Camel cigs in my zippered shirt pocket. Only problem is, no shirt. Whats another scar.

I had a very troublesome arrythmia in May. It was just different. I was driving (of course) and pulled into a parking lot, as I felt I was going to pass out. I have had SVT for 20 plus years, and I knew that wasnt it. Have PVC's, bigeminy, afib, know what all that stuff feels like. This had immediate symptoms, ie; ringing ears, narrowing vision, and just an overall ominous feeling of impending doom. Sorry, but that was how it felt. The Doc says lets put you on an event monitor. Right. Did that. Again. Nothing big, or new. But scheduled an EPS due to some "unidentified" stuff recorded.

About an hour in, he triggered VFIB! Not Tach, not brady, but FIB! Yikes..... He waited until I passed out (how very kind) then shocked me THREE times to get it started. Our cardio nurse told me he was sweating bullets. When I came outta VF, I went immediately into SVT. Sweat some more. He ablated that. He scheduled the Pacer for the next day. I guess he believed me then about the episode in the car.

I woke up immediately after the shock, and felt like I had been torched all over my chest. The new paddle thingies are great!! They stick on, and remain on during the procedure. Front and back. Cool, huh? I have burn marks still, but they will fade. Because of the high "voltage" required to convert me, they put in what he called a "Big Bertha". Well, if you gotta have one. It is rather large, and Im rather slight... What the heck.

Well, have I bored you enough? I know there are a bunch of you who have been through the same thing. It was not a bad procedure either day. I had great care and feel more secure now. I wanna talk about Magnesium. And of course, the big Zap. Would anyone care to comment. I dont wanna say anything about Magnesium, I wanna hear what you guys think. Who is on it? What dosage?

Sorry to be so non-suportive these past months. Have been a tad self absorbed. I pray for you guys and the board. Ordered the T shirts. Please forgive my absence. I'd buy a bumper sticker if you made one. Promise!

Mindy!

So good to hear from you. I've thought of you often and wondered how things were.

Sorry you had to have yet more hardware, but all's well that ends well. Hope your zapper doesn't have to go off too many times. I hear they can pack a wallop.

Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing, please.

1000 mg magnesium daily, minor a-fib only after excess; I drove almost 1000 miles last week in two days, and had a little a-fib the next day.
Krupp, German armorer, made a huge new cannon for the conquest of Paris in 1870, and named it for his wife; hence the Big Bertha.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Perhaps you did or had Hank change it or you have 2 accounts?
Either way or ways, just ask Hank. He can fix it for you. ;)
