Picture me teathered to my oxygen line wearing one of those T-shirts just so I could feel like I'm part of the crowd. :eek: :D

Senior Snail

Wecome to the club 'Senior Snail'. Looks like your the only one from Australia too! This week I started picking up my long run distances again. In March all do a 10K, 5mile Run and yesterday I found an 8K on Mercer Island in Seattle I may run. All together with the marathon in October, I have chose 11 runs for the year.
Having a run scheduled, keeps me out their pounding the pavement.
You live in a beautiful country Greg. Australia really has something to be proud of, in regard to the last Olympics. Your country did a excellent job as host country.
I follow the olympic movement pretty close, and collect olympic memorabilia. I think I fell in love with Olga Korbut during the 72 Olympics and never got over it. :p A boys dream; the athletes bring out the best in all of us.

G'Day Mark, ( with My OZ accent you would probably think I was saying G'Dy Mike}

Your program sounds great. Challenging but achieveable so long as all the bits hold together. I agree setting challenges like that keeps you out on the roads. I will head out for a bit of LSD as soon as I hit the submit button.

I agree I am fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world and a great place to run. I am doubly lucky for while I live in the inner city now I also have a beach house. Long relaxed runs along our beaches must be close to as good as it gets.

I did however live in Boulder Colorado for almost 2 years in the early '80's while I was at Graduate school at CU. Now there is a fabulous place an an absolute haven for runners. Seeing Frank Shorter win the '72 Munich marathon was the trigger for my marathon career. It was a great thrill to meet him in Boulder. I was 34 years old and was struck almost speechless like a teenager meeting Britney Spears. Most Sunday mornings I ran with the Boulder Road Runners and some pretty elite runners often turned up. Usually I was left breathless and shattered at the back of the pack. On reflection perhaps I can blame my dicky aortic valve, which of course I knew nothing about!

Well the road beckons. Will stay in touch.

re: Sylvia and Joey ...

I will check the site Sylvia, to see if you and Joey have joined yet. Les, Greg, and myself need more V.R. company. Remember we have to have Greg's approval on any decisions made within that web site, since he is 'Senior Snail'!:D
