Hi Folks, I got released from my hospital cell today after 6 days from the 4 minute hernia operation!!! However, it was under certain conditions. My INR is not up to the therapeutic range yet (1.56 vs 2.0). I'm suppose to use Lovenox tonight and in the morning, then go see my Cardio Doc to see what my INR is at that time. My Coumadin dose has varied from 12.5 to 10mgs, which is what I took today on top of the Lovenox and I have a perscription for more if needed. There was a strange feeling of "freedom restored" when I walked out of that hospital and my wonderful girlfriend picked me up with our two happy greyhounds in the back of the SUV. On top of this was getting back from the Utah hiking/camping trip 4 days before surgery, it's good to be at home for a change. Will

Happy to hear you are home. Now, just get that INR back up and you will be on cloud nine.

Take care.

Right, they said don't lift anything over 15 lbs for 8 weeks. I can still do some jogging though. Will

Glad you are doing OK now! Sounds like they are working hard to get your INR in range and bridging you to keep you safe. But they need to remember that the coumadin doesn't act right away, takes a couple of days for your INR to react to changes etc.

Good luck, and don't jog too much!!!

Good news at the Cardio Doc's office, my INR was 3.2! No more Lovenox shots and back to my 7.5mg Coumadin dose. Next check in 2 weeks. Cheers, Will
