Got my INRatio almost 2 weeks ago. Did my first test yesterday.
When the RN called from QAS to run me through a test, I told her I had run one about an hour before and found it very simple. We chatted a bit and then she said that since I'd already run a test and since I've been hometesting for nearly 4.6 years on a ProTime 3, no need for me to do a test with her on the phone.

It's very easy to use. Hardest problem I encountered was trying to figure out that darned lancet! Had to re-read directions several time to determine how to "launch the trigger."

Yep. First time I tried to use mine I didn't have it set high enough and it didn't puncture deep enough to get any blood. The nurse on the phone suggested setting it at the highest setting and I've left it there ever since.

Glad you got your new machine. I love mine! :D

Sticking

Sticking

Hey Cat,

Congrats on the new machine...

I'm with Ross; I really enjoy sticking myself on Thursday mornings to see how well I've managed things for the previous week. I probably need to get a life...cheap thrills with a lancet launcher and an INRatio monitor machine.

Your lancet launcher must be different from the one they sent me. Mine has a obvious trigger button on it.

I'm thinking it's not the button she couldn't figure out, but the pulling it back so it would "fire" when you push that button. I can see where that's not obvious...

Marsha, Get a box of Tenderletts, then you won't have to worry about the "lancet". QAS handles them. Warm regards, Marty

Marty: I have a surplus of Tenderlettes. Seems that when I ordered 25 cuvettes, I'd get more Tenderlettes than cuvettes. I used a Tenderlette for my first INRatio test. Got 3.1 INR. Ran another one later for grins, using the lancet, and got a 3.2.

Niki:

You hit the nail on the head. Yes, I could find the trigger. But didn't understand I needed to pull back on the lower part of the lancet to set the trigger. Once I stumbled upon that, I was OK.

Me too.....I'm either into cheap thrills or I don't have much of a life....every second Thursday!

Accuracy

Accuracy

OH MY GAWD...

Your readings were off by .1...

Your machine must be inaccurate and unreliable...

Your doctor better get you back to the lab for another blood draw...

Your life is probably at risk...

...Not!

When I got the 3.2, I also ran an INR on my ProTime 3. It was 2.7. I always knew my ProTime 3 was lower than the CoaguChek in my PCP's office.
