My surgeon called this morning to give me the final date for surgery. I go in for preop on Friday 16/4 and surgery is on Sunday 18/4.

Both my surgeon and cardiologist are top tier pro's and giving me first class treatment. I have full confidence in them.

Family and friends are all informed, kids are informed, I feel I am ready to go.
In the next coming days I will be wrapping up stuff for my job, arranging my home environment for return and taking off one day with my wife. She deserves it!

Daniel

Daniel,
Wishing you all the best in your surgery. Is there anyone that can post for you to let us know how the surgery went and how you are doing?

Wow,
That's amazing, to be having surgery on a Sunday?? Good luck to you Bud, it'll all be just fine..you'll see. The first day or two of course is a little uncomfortable...but heck..it is the beginning of the rest of your life :D . Just a little speed bump in the road of life is all.

Best wishes,
Brian

You are in my prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. You'll be up & running in enough time to enjoy summer. Keep your head up and think about the future. You have alot to live for. Tell your wife, I send my support I know how hard this is on the spouse. My husband just watched me go through OHS in Jan. Best wishes to you both. Keep us updated.

Daniel,

Best of luck on your upcoming surgery. Boy, you don't have to wait long...that's a good thing (it's the hardest part). I hope your wife or a friend can post and let us know how you are doing after the surgery. I'm not sure what the time difference there is, but I'll be thinking about you on that day!

Hi Daniel-

Glad to hear that you've got your date and the long wait is almost over with. Then on to a better life.

I want to wish you all the best for your surgery. I hope someone will post for you so we know how things went.

Hi All,

Thank you for all your best wishes.

My wife Yochy just understood she has another task for surgery day - posting to you all. She will be glad to write good news...

Hi Daniel...
You will do just fine and be up and running before you know it. I will keep you in my prayers.
Two things...Write a special note to your wife and arrange to 'sneak' it to the ICU nurses to give to you when you wake up. Make it something special just between the two of you. My wife and I like are latte's and my special note said "Latte Please...I Love You". When I woke up the ICU nurse said your wife is outside and are you ready for the note? As I still had the vent in, I nodded yes. He made sure I had it in my hand securely and went to get my wife (plus daughter plus best friend) When my wife came in I could tell her stress meter was pegged out (as I thought it would be) and I handed her the note. She cracked up laughing and she knew that I was fine and her stress disappeared.
Also get yourself 3 or 4 big Hawaiian shirts. When you start into rehab these are simple to take on/off and they have a big front pocket for the heart monitor. I strongly recommend these for the first month after the surgery.
Remember to trust in God...all will be OK
Chip :D

Today I took a day off from work to spend some quiet time with my wife. We just wondered the big city did some shopping and some eating. It was relaxing and fun, and I think just in time. tomorrow I have some wrapping up to do in work and Friday I go in for preop.

See you on the other side

Daniel,
You've got a lot of folks here in your cheering section! Good luck and we'll look forward to seeing you soon on the other side of that mountain.
