Got my date!

I'm fairly new to the site but I've been looking at it for a long time, I've gotten so much great information from everybody, it's truly been a blessing that I found it. Anyway, I'm scheduled for surgery on september 2. I'm having my aortic valve and root replaced. I've decided to go with a mechanical, I'm only 30 and I've got two daughters(10months and 3-1/2 yrs) and am very active but it sounds like coumadin's not that big of a deal and both my surgeon and cardiologist said it won't limit my activity from what it is now. I just wanted to say thanks, I've learned so much from this site and hopefully I can contribute more afterwords. I'll keep you all updated as best as I can.

Welcome, Paul. I, too, have gained incredible knowledge and support from this site. So glad to have you. I'm still waiting for that feeling of, well, what is the feeling when they actually hand you a date?? Relief of some kind, I'm sure.

This is where it all gets interesting, so please keep us posted on your journey. The more you ask and tell, the more we all get to learn and share.

Who are your cardiologist and surgeon? I had a VR at Porter on May 27 with Dr. Myles Guber. My cardio is Dr. Art Levene. Both are first rate.

Same as yours, I'm having my surgery done at Swedish though. I'm very happy with both doctors as well.
