Surgeon bumped me up 1 day sooner. Hate that messing with my head. So daughter has to get on road today. BS. And they had my cath scheduled with a dr. that doesn't even practice in the hospital. BS. I will barely be out of cath when the surgeon discusses my case with me and valve choices. Whoopee! Welcome to Cleveland.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I'm sure it is very frustrating. It's like they are going out of their way to remind you that you are not in control.

Try your best to think about the only positive: you are one day closer to beginning your recovery. Hang in there. Wishing you the best. -- Suzanne

Sorry to hear about your frustration. I was a patient there two times. For my first surgery, I was bumped to one day later because another patient arrived who needed surgery more urgently than I did. That was totally understandable and I had been warned ahead of time that it could happen. I had no schedule changes the second time but then July 3rd wasn't exactly a popular day for non-emergent surgeries. Despite the frustrations that sometimes go with being a patient in a high-volume heart center, I'm confident you're in excellent hands. I always found comfort in knowing that nothing was going to happen that my surgeon and his team hadn't seen many times before. Hang in there.

Bumped again from noon to 5:15 am. Well, I won't have to worry much longer. If I don't sleep much tonight, I will after surgery I'm sure.

Something like that happened to me. I was scheduled for surgery on a Tuesday. The Friday before they called and asked me if Monday was OK. I just asked "What time?"
