My angiogram went ok yesterday. I found out I have 2 cusps instead of 3 in my valve. Thats why I need it replaced. Now the good news.
They're not going to do the vertical incision, they are going to try the horizontal, minimally invasive prodedure. Im glad. The recovery time is much shorter. The surgeons are Trivedi, Jain, and Guiati. The surgery is scheduled for Nov. 15th. SO 2 weeks from yesterday. THanks for all of the good thoughts and prayers for yesterday.

Debra, many of us have shared your relief at the end of that period of uncertainty when one finally has a date for surgery. I hope all goes well for you. Now as you prepare, I would encourage you to begin thinking about your recovery and planning your return to an active life. Regardless of the type of surgery, it is still necessary to approach recovery in a measured fashion taking care that one's desire to return to normal activity does not compromise healing. Take care.
