My warfarin manager responded to all my e-mails requesting help--unfortunately I never received them and when I inquired is there a problem she replied by phone.

So spouse's warfarin dose has been adjusted. PCP and my manager's instructions were exactly the same. So spouse and PCP have decided between themselves that between the 3 of us and my XS we'll do just fine.

Our PCP has come full circle with home monitoring from only in conjunction with a vein draw to suggesting I do the dosing adjustment because he feels I know enough with his ito do it. Meanwhile I'm having difficulty getting my head around that.

I'm wondering if it's wise for two patients to use the same monitor? It makes sense.

Lance and spouse, that is excellent news. Go for it and share the machine, just remember to order enough test strips.
My small town PCP is very supportive and I am self dosing. It ain't rocket science!

Lance:

My husband and I have been testing on the same monitor for two years.

Our doctor has the same monitor that we do. That monitor is used on many people daily in his coumadin clinic.

Bina, thanks for the vote of confidence. I've used "not rocket science" too and I believe it's a true statement.

PCP is aware that a clinic manages my dosing. However he feels I know enough to do it for my husband and his new stent. I just have to get used to this unexpected turn of events. My husband successfully tested himself on Monday after watching me take mine. Two thumbs up--way up.

Isn't it great to learn of the open-mindedness of our PCP's.
