I'm heading to Phoenix for a cat show Dec. 9, 2006, and to Cleveland OH (actually Strongsville, I think) for a show Jan. 20, 2007. (Will be judging at both events)
I've been to the December Phoenix show before, so no problem dressing warm enough for Phoenix. The nights are fairly cool, days usually warm in December.
But...
This Texas girl may need some help with preparing to deal with Cleveland's cold weather in January. It's on one of the Great Lakes. I judged a show almost 2 years ago in Bennington VT in early January and, yeah, it was cold there, but the show was also at the Sheraton where we stayed. Only time I was outside was to/from the airport.
I do need ot get a new winter coat. I've joked that the best places to get a really warm coat are (1) Mall of America in Bloomington MN or (2) (3) Boston MA/Freeport ME. My husband isn't buying my suggestions.
I would love to visit any of the vr.com cat lovers at either show. Just PM me and I'll give you details.
