The American Heart Association is having their woman to woman conferences in different states in January and February.

Atlanta GA conference is on February 25. There conference is filled with lots of good breakout sessions on topics like childhood obesity, managing hypertension, cooking, etc. Their sessions are done by doctors and some Rn. A few years ago one doctor gave me his business card and told me to email him if I had anymore question on valve disease.

This year I plan on paying for tickets for my mom and sister to attend one in Michigan.

I think this is such a good idea. Last year and this year, I have given the red dress pins to all of the women who have helped us in the past year. I was surprised that some of the women in the cardiologist's office did not even know about women's special needs and problems with heart concerns. I didn't think to attend the local conferences and meetings, but is looks like a great idea now that I seem to be developing some heart concerns of my own.
