Just tested today after a week of 1500mg of Glucosamine daily and my INR was 4.6! OOps! That's the highest it's been in a long time.
I'm not concerned, as I just lowered my dose and I'm sure it will be in range soon.

Gail, I take 1000 of Glucosamine daily and have never had it raise my INR. I didn't think the Glucosamine was known to mess with INR. Hopefully Al will way in, but it may be some other culprit for you.

I'm glad that I'm not weighing in.

Glucosamine should have no effect on the INR. However, if starting glucosamine means that you are hurting enough to be less active, I would expect the INR to be in this range.

I've actually been doing less aerobic exercise for the last month, only doing weights a couple times a week , since I started my new job. I just can't get used to exercising in the afternoon or evening. I always used to exercise in the a.m. Plus it's been raining alot and I haven't walked the dog for awhile.
But this is the first weekly test that has been high. For many weeks my INR has been 2.9, so that's why I suspected the glucosamine.
But change in activity is an interesting theory.

Gail,
I try to work out at least 3 times a week. If I'm not able, my INR does go up. Right now I'm having to raise my dose each time I test because it's been in the lower part of the range and I am more comfortable with it higher. INR management has been like doing a Rubik's Cube puzzle. I've never been very stable.
