Was good to see the mention of the percutaneous valve repacement surgery.

My late husband fell into that risk group. Unfortunately the team at the hospital where he died decided not to inform him that it was being done at a little place around the corner, Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

The more information presented here the better choices/care/survival people will have.

Susan, I'm so very sorry to read that. I know that "disappointed" doesn't even begin to describe your feelings in this situation.

Susan, from what you and I have previously discussed, I also believe that your husband may have been a good candidate for this new PVR procedure. My continuing condolences go out to you.

Bina, thank you for the kindness. Not only did my husband lose the potential for a better outcome, others lost a test for something that may be helpful in the future.

My husband had no other significant comorbidities, just the birthdays. Assuming he had adequate femoral access he would have been a great test subject.

It is unfortunate when hospitals get into a competition that disregards the patient. Can't understand why UH thinks they have a dog in the cardiac surgery fight with CCF 2 blocks away.

It is wonderful to have the premier facility in town. The downside is that CCF is often at capacity so locals are unable to be admitted via ambulance.

Again, thank you for your kind words.
