My daughter moved and now it is a round trip of 60 miles to visit her.I just returned home and my low fuel light went on as I pulled into driveway. I put $20.00 gas in yesterday..and did about 15 miles home. so that is a total of 75 miles on $20.00 worth of gas. My S/I/L /daughter both do about a round trip of 150 miles a day in 2 different cars.that means they are paying $40.00 a day..$200.00 a week for their commute to work...Was wondering who does the longest day miles to work?Just awful. this gas. Bonnie

BURP!!!!!!!!

Excuse MEEE!!!!   :p

I make only a measily 130 miles round trip each day. In the wife's car that's about $12.50 a day for gas---my pick-m-up truck, about $21.00 a day.

But when you gotta go---you gotta pay!!!!!

Back when we owned a Motorhome (and gas prices were a lot lower) we had someone ask us one day what kind of mileage we got. I told him "From one gas station to the next---if you want to live in one you gotta pay".

May God Bless,

Bubba :) (only 5 smilies  OOOOPS - six  Uh!)

I knew I would mess up:D I meant to say a round trip of 120 miles to see daughter.:D Add another 15 miles to when I filled up with $20.00 of gas. 135 miles on $20.00..........We Southern girls never did learn to figure.:p :p Motorhome has spider-webs on their tires. :D Bonnie

I am much luckier than when I lived in Los Angeles. I had a much longer and slower commute out there. Here I only travel about 30 miles/day to one job (3 days a week) and 20 miles/day the other 2 days. I spend about $15-$20/week in gas.

I do about 9 miles each way to work....

I do about 9 miles each way to work....

However, since I am moving back to Rochester during September, I will have to do 60 miles round trip until I can find something closer, as we have this bridge, and it's horrible to drive over in the winter, and I don't like driving in the snow anyway, so I will be looking for a job closer to home. Yes, the gas prices are aweful, but I have noticed that they have started to come down quite a bit in my area. Hope yall have the same thing happening. Harrybaby:eek: :D

Hi Bon et al..

Tyce drives 100 miles a day, but only 3 to 4 days a week. I drive 52 miles round trip, but only twice a week..........Matter of fact, we were just looking at a ford focus wagon---26-31 mpg. and it's flat towable. Of course, the motor home hasn't been out since April and when we leave for Maine on Monday we'll be taking the ferry from NY through CT, so we'll save on gas but pay for it in fees......can't win but it's a great trip by boat.

Diesel is $3.19 per gallon down here. Tyce says gas is $3.05 here on the eastern end of the island, but up west he paid $2.99.9 at BJ's .......You know we fill our diesel mh up when we get to jersey, but in this case it will probably be Mass......Anybody up there know the price of diesel fuel?

Evelyn

I hate this delayed typing..........

Gas is $2.48 in our SE Missouri town tonight.
For some strange reason, ever since the pipeline in Alaska shut down, our gas prices have dropped.:) :)
We're not using much gas, because Bob is riding his bike 3 miles to work and 3 miles back. Of course he does put a whooping six miles on the car when it rains!

Cheap Fuel

Cheap Fuel

Fuel prices are still very cheap in the US compared to the rest of the world. It is about AUD $1.35 a litre in Australia, about USD $4.20 a gallon. In the UK it is closer to USD $7.00 a gallon. I don't drive to work so it doesn't bother me greatly, I work in the heart of the city and catch a suburban train to work, and much quicker and cheaper then driving and I live 10 minutes walk to the station. :)

Ev..sounds like a great trip you have planned..We will dust off our motorhome next month for our annual Anniver. trip..40years the 16th..:D Haven't decided where we are going, tho...Depends on the gas prices...Been to Maine..Have fun..Bonnie

My husband drives about 40 miles each way to work:eek: We are seriously considering getting a compressed natural gas car for him to commute in. These are not too many places to fill those puppies, but there is one on his way to work....Deb

I drive 56 miles roundtrip per day and my husband drives 50 miles roundtrip per day. If he cuts the grass and fishes on the weekend we add another 50.00 a week for gas. I keep telling him I need to retire early and look at all the money we would save. He won't buy it. I guess its because he knows I would just be driving to the mall or the casino in Alabama every week.

I can travel up to several hundred miles a day. There are occasions where I have to fill up more than once a day. Depending on what part of the country I'm in at the time it can cost nearly $60 everytime. Its times like these where I wanna kick myself for buying the bigger engine in my truck.

Luckly I get most of the money back from the company. :)
